Artist Statement

I paint at the intersection of two landscapes that shaped me. Growing up along the Mediterranean, the sun was harsh yet dazzling, the colors unfiltered - horizons edged with yellow sand dunes and sea light, vivid and direct.

Moving to the Pacific Northwest, I entered a world of subtle skies, dense forests, and glacial lakes that end in gray gravel shores, where shades of quiet carry weight and restraint feels natural.

That tension between brightness and softness lives in my paintings. Oil and cold wax let me layer, soften, and reveal, echoing the way identities shift between clarity and nuance.

Mediterranean light and strong colors meet the muted shades of Pacific Northwest gray in my visual language, where intensity and stillness find deliberate juxtaposition in a single surface.
